Job Description

Building Staff Solutions (BSS) are seeking applications for the position of a Senior QS accountable for all aspects of surveying and commercial functions on Profit Centre projects.

Our client is one of Irelands leading Fit out Contractors with a long history of completing projects to the highest standards. The goal is to exceed clients’ expectations and to add value to their business.

What is required 

Your Responsibilities

  • Promote the adoption of SHEQ best practice in the workplace.
  • Maximisation of value recovery, cost control and cash management.
  • Protection of Clients commercial position.
  • Administering Contract Records.
  • Production of monthly reports.
  • Preparation of final reports.
  • Overseeing the Procurement function.
  • Developing relationships with clients / supply chain / professional team
  • Overall financial, contractual and legal contract of their projects.
  • Close liaison with Surveying Manager or PCM.
  • Knowledge & understanding of our obligations under the Contract.
  • Preparation of contract budget including PEP.
  • Maximise Value Recovery and cash.
  • Administer Contract Records.
  • Manage the Procurement function.
  • Produce JCR’s and JCS’s monthly.
  • Measurement and valuation.
  • Production of Loss and Expense claims with Regional / Commercial Director.
  • Production and agreement of Final Accounts.
  • Form Relationship with PQS/Client/consultants/Supply Chain.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Update cash reporting / manage cash collection.
  • Use of CVDO procedure.
  • Obtain tax and insurance details on subcontractors.
  • Attend contract handover meeting.
  • Ensuring that the terms and conditions of subcontractor’s orders are agreed.
  • Manage the weekly and monthly close-out disciplines.

  • Knowledge & understanding of our obligations under the contract
  • Commercial: maximise value recovery, cost control & cash mgmt
  • Knowledge & understanding measurement and valuation
  • Knowledge & understanding of claims, loss & expense
  • Preparation & understanding of financial reports
  • Knowledge & understanding of administration of contract records
  • Knowledge & understanding of Final Accounts
  • Knowledge & understanding of subcontract/materials orders & buying
  • Requires basic awareness and may need supervision.
  • Capable of dealing with a variety of issues, may need some supervision.
  • Proven ability, confident in dealing with complex issues, demonstrates ability on a regular basis
  • High level of ability and advanced knowledge.
  • Recognised within the business as an expert.
